Blowing, filling and sealing (BFS) technology is an advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) used in the production of sterile liquid products, which was first used in the pharmaceutical industry. Blow/Fill/Seal (BFS) technology is a continuous aseptic filling production technology that integrates the three process steps of hot melt plastic parison blow molding, filling and sealing on the production line into the same equipment. It was also called "three in one" technology when it was introduced into China.

After many improvements, the BFS technology now has a wider range of applications and scenarios, it can be used in the production of aseptic liquid preparations (solutions, emulsions, suspensions) and aseptic semisolid preparations (gels, creams and ointments), as well as in the production of non-aseptic products.

In the pharmaceutical industry, BFS technology is currently mainly used in the production of terminal sterilization and non -terminal sterilization sterile liquid preparations, such as eye drops, injections, inhalation solutions, etc. BFS technology can mainly meet the aseptic production of 0.1ml~1500ml capacity in the pharmaceutical field, and its filling speed may be different in different models and different equipment manufacturers, both of which have the functions of CIP and SIP.
